NVDIA GeForce GT 620 - Unsupported Video Driver

It's a matter of hardware manufacturers themselves, who in recent years have become increasingly authoritarian. They can, and will, completely discontinue support of any of their hardware components that are even four years old, let alone eight years old. And in the case of Adobe, it merely was required to follow the lead of hardware manufacturers. In other words, Adobe is now letting the hardware companies pull its strings.

And that GT 620 is not actually a true 600-series GPU at all! In fact, it is one of many budget rebrands of GPUs that were two generations older than that. You see, the desktop GT 620 is actually a cut-down version of the GF108 GPU that debuted in the GT 430 way back in 2010.

By the way, if your system is a desktop (not a laptop), and your GT 620 is in the form of a separate graphics card that's plugged into an internal slot on the motherboard, then it's just a simple matter of replacing it with a newer card - without having to gut and rebuild your entire system.

Gt 620 geforce

EVGA GeForce GT 620 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card 01G-P3-2621-KR

Pros: Very basic, good price, and you get what you pay for. I bought this card for one reason only, I needed to drive two 23" IPS monitors at their native resolution, and this is the cheapest card I could find that would support that. This has Dual-link DVI x2, which sets it apart from its cheaper brethren the GT 610, which I believe only has one dual-link DVI output, and one single-link DVI output.

Cons: Fermi based GPU, not Kepler. Basically an older technology re-branded, but it works fine for my needs. I do not play games, but I imagine that this card will have some difficultly with modern games.

Overall Review: If you are only using this for a media center, or you are only driving one large monitor, then you probably can just go with the GT610 and save yourself 10 bucks. If you plan to drive two large monitors with the two DVI outputs, then you will need this card at a minimum.
