MINECRAFT SPHERE GENERATOR

Despite the vast number of cool games available today, Minecraft remains one child’s favorite. It’s a block-building game where players can build structures and things out of blocks. Players can also interact with each other in the world, fight zombies and explore caves.

You can go ahead and get an idea of how to place blocks on the right spots for a perfect sphere through this incredible tool.

FEATURES OF THE MINECRAFT SPHERE GENERATOR

The Minecraft sphere generator is a powerful tool designed to assist Minecraft gamers in building incredible spheres and other shapes inspired by spherical shapes such as domes and building tops, increasing the scope of Minecraft spheres.

Although this tool has plenty of exciting features, some of its key features are listed below:

It is possible to generate sphere shapes with variable radius sizes with the help of this sphere maker.

The tool clearly displays the exact number of blocks you need to create your dream sphere in the Minecraft game.

It is possible for you to generate two types of sphere shapes, one with aligned blocks and one without aligned blocks.

Depending on your preference, you can either highlight the sphere or leave an empty space.

It is also possible to opt for lightening the previous layers of the suggested model to gain a better understanding of block placement.

HOW TO USE THIS MINECRAFT SPHERE GENERATOR

There is no confusion about how to use or understand this sphere generator. The straightforward and simple design of this tool makes it very easy for beginners to get familiar with it and understand it better.

By default, this tool generates a model to create a sphere with a radius of eight and recommended settings enabled.

You can modify or reselect the radius of the sphere as per your requirements.

Next, choose whether to fill the sphere with blocks or leave empty spaces where blocks have already been positioned.

In addition, you can decide whether to separate the previous layer of blocks via highlighting for differentiation.

Thereafter, you can choose whether to display the blocks in a well-arranged or aligned form.

Finally, hit the generate button to generate the sphere shape with the settings you just selected.

Note: It is recommended to generate the sphere shape for inspiration well under the radius value of 20 to render it smoothly; otherwise, it will occupy lots of your PC resources.

How to build a hollow sphere in Minecraft

Plotz online voxel sphere generator

Plotz voxel sphere generator
for Minecraft

I wrote Plotz online voxel sphere generator to help people build hollow spheres made out of blocks in Minecraft. Using Plotz you can select the size of the sphere you want to build and see it on screen. You can then print out a schematic or use Plotz's on-screen step facility to see how the sphere is built layer by layer.

Start by visiting Plotz and follow the 'Take me to Plotz' link. Initially Plotz shows a 32 block high sphere. I'd recommend starting this size or smaller. This size took me a day to make (In Real Life) although I did mine all the materials myself. Use the arrows either side of the size to step up or down 1 block in size or type in a new size between 1 and 64 and hit enter to change it. Be patient if your machine is slow while Plotz generates and renders the sphere. Once you're happy with the size of sphere you want to build you can either print out a schematic OR work on screen.

If printing, hit the print button. Plotz will preview the schematic on screen. The various print options are well explained and mostly relate to saving paper. The ghost layer is by far the most useful option and is turned on as default. This makes sure you can see how each layer is positioned relative to the layer below. Adjust your options if required and then click Print. Choose your printer, set and printer specific options, start printing and make a coffee.

You might also consider printing to a file such as a PDF file. I've heard CUTE PDF is good for this but haven't used it myself. Printing to a file will allow you to bring the schematic up on-screen. This is especially useful if you have multiple monitors.

If you don't have a printer, don't despair. I actually found working on screen and stepping through the layers of my sphere very easy. Start by entering 1 in 'show up to layer'. Now use the arrow buttons either side of that value to step through the layers. The gold highlight clearly shows the current layer. Switch between Plotz and Minecraft while building using your OS hotkeys (alt+tab for windows).

Start voxel sphere

6 layers in with
dirt 'joining' blocks front left

Halfway voxel sphere

48 block high voxel sphere
half way done

Minecraft sphere in clouds

Close to finished and
in the clouds

Make sure there is enough room to build your sphere. I put down dirt 'posts' to mark out the width and height where I wanted to build. This way I made sure I wasn't going to end up having to dig out any mountains or cliffs that might be in the way. Also, remember that from ground level to the top of the sky is 64 blocks. Don't leave yourself short of space to finish your sphere.

Starting from the ground up is a no-brainer choice. Where there are no overlapping blocks between one layer and another, just use dirt blocks as 'joiners' and remove them later. I also used dirt with ladders for scaffolding as well as ladders. Always enter (and exit) from the top in case there are any creepers about and light up the inside with torches to stop skeletons and zombies spawning inside at night.

When building a layer I found it easiest to remember the stepping around the edge of 1/8th of the circle as a series of numbers in my head. Even when I built a 48 size sphere I never had to remember more then 4 or 5 numbers. Build each eigth towards another to make quarters. When they meet at the correct place you can be confident there's no mistakes. Before you know it, that layer is finished and you're on to the next.

I hope you find Plotz useful and please leave feedback here on my blog with any comments you have!

How to Build a Dome of ANY SIZE in Minecraft!!! [Tutorial]

One of the things which is fun in Minecraft is that you are able to make things that you want. Do you want to make a sphere? If you want to make it, you are able to do that by using a sphere generator. Do you know where to find the Minecraft sphere generator?

One of the places that you are able to use to find a sphere generator is Plotz site. On this site, you will find a sphere generator. You are able to access it at plotz.co.uk. It can generate spheres, ellipsoids, torus and more in your web browser. You are able to launch Plotz Modeller for Minecraft by choosing the object you want to model.

In this sphere generator which is the HTML5 modeller for Minecraft, you are able to make good hollow spheres. Plotz is able to model spheres up to 256 blocks diameter. If you want to make spheres in Minecraft, you must launch Plotz Sphere Generator from the link in the Plotz site written “Launch Plotz Minecraft Sphere Generator”.  You are also able to choose the sphere model from the Plotz model menu and then, the initial spheres modeller screen will be shown.

For your information, the Plotz modeller always uses the full width and height of the browser. If you want, you are able to resize your window or even enter full screen mode to be able to make most of this. If you use tablet devices such as the iPad, Plotz will be able to redisplay in case you change screen orientation to landscape or portrait.

First, you will see there is a 32 block diameter sphere and it is shown as a 3D model. Drag the slider along the bottom so that you can change the diameter between 8 and 256 blocks. The sliders can be hidden if required using << button. If you want to get it back, you can choose the size value.

In the top right, there is number. It is how many blocks that you will need to build the sphere in Minecraft. You may want to return to the model menu at any time. If so, you are able to go back in your browser or you are able to choose the model name button at the top.

You will also see that there is the right hand slider. It enables you to show a specific horizontal layer of your model. It can be applied to both 2D and 3D views. This layer will be highlighted yellow in 3D model only. Well, access Plotz now to use Spheres generator. There, you are also able to read more details about how to use the generators so that you are able to generate spheres and build something good for Minecraft.

If you need more information related to spheres in Minecraft, you can watch some videos below on Youtube.

Maker minecraft sphere

Minecraft Sphere Generator

Create perfect hollow spheres using Plotz, the HTML5 modeller for Minecraft. Plotz can model spheres up to 256 blocks diameter. If you are building a sphere using Plotz, this help page will give you all the information you need, then you can launch Plotz Minecraft Sphere generator.

Launch Plotz Minecraft Sphere Generator

Using Plotz to make Spheres in Minecraft

Launch Plotz Sphere Generator from the link above or select the sphere model from the Plotz model menu. The initial sphere modeller screen will be shown. Plotz modeller always uses the full with and height of the browser. You can resize your window or enter full screen mode to make this most of this. On tablet devices such as the iPad, Plotz will redisplay if you change screen orientation to landscape or portrait.

Initially a 32 block diameter sphere is shown as a 3D model. Drag the slider along the bottom to alter the diameter between 8 and 256 blocks. Larger models take longer to render and may display a progress window. You can hide the sliders if required using the << button. You can get the sliders back by selected the size value.

The number in the top right is how many blocks you'll need to build the sphere in Minecraft.

Return to the model menu at any time by going back in your browser OR selecting the model name button at the top.

The right hand slider allows you to show a specific horizontal layer of your model. This applies to both 2D and 3D views. In 3D mode only, this layer will be highlighted yellow.

Typical building would see you start at layer 1, make that layer in Minecraft and then hit the + button to see the next layer and continue building vertically.

When you drag the slider back to the top, the top layer is left highlighted yellow. Select the + button to remove the highlight if required.

Select zoom to zoom in to the Plotz model display. Zoom works in both 2D and 3D modes. The zoom button cycles through 200%, 400% and back to 100%.

While zoomed in, drag the main canvas to pan around. To save graphics memory, Plotz will only update the display when you stop dragging.

Zoom is particularly useful in 2D mode as almost all models are symmetrical meaning you can zoom to the top left quadrant and build it 4 times to make the whole layer.

Buttons in the top left toggle between 3D and 2D mode. 3D gives a good idea of how a model will look when built, but 2D mode is arguably more useful when building, especially for larger models.

In 2D mode a layer of your model is displayed as a 2D grid. Blocks on this layer are clearly displayed. Any blocks visible on the layer below appear ghosted out helping you position the current layer.

Many models give block counts in coloured groups of 5 (5 red, 5 green, 5 blue etc.) to help you build curves. These counts are shown in the top left quadrant. Symmetry means most models simply require this quadrant to be built 4 times over.

How to Build a Sphere in Minecraft

Voxel Shape Generator

Use this tool to make spheres for Minecraft and the like. Idea originally stolen from Neil Fraser, but more recently inspired by friendly competition with my friend Jesse, whose Circle Generator seems a little two dimensional.

Update (12/15/2019) I have obviously not touched this in a while, but I think my beta version from like 5 years ago has everything and more of what the old one had, and can address performance and UI complaints, so I'm just going to make that the main version. You can always use the old version by clicking the link above.

Update (2/8/2015) Attempting to make this a little more bad-ass. See here

Update (3/14/2013) GUI makeover- I'm attempting to speed everything up by only rendering tables when you're ready for them. I also added isometric modeling (with culling this time) in canvas that should let you preview the shape.

Update (3/12/2013) You can now draw your own shape with Bezier curves! Adding SVG rendering methods for speed, although it's not as easy to read as tables. I'll try to make that work a bit better.

Update (9/30/2012) The script has been updated to generate cones and domes. If you have any suggestions, add them to the comments.
